I am interested in how memories of moments seen, heard, and spoken define our relationships and influence our identity. My work is inspired by the poetry of Bridgett Devoue, Iain Thomas and Miguel Cruz, who explore the intimacy of love, loss and desire within their work. I use rich layers of beeswax to create abstract representations of these memoirs and titles of each piece are direct excerpts from the authors. Through the utilization of this text, this work seeks to reify memory, giving material presence to otherwise immaterial phenomena.
